Daily calorie needs

How this is calculated
Your basal metabolic rate comes from the Mifflin-St Jeor equation:
BMR = 10 × weight(kg) + 6.25 × height(cm) − 5 × age + 5 (male)
BMR = 10 × weight(kg) + 6.25 × height(cm) − 5 × age − 161 (female)
That's multiplied by an activity factor to get maintenance calories. The goal then adds or subtracts a deficit: roughly 7,700 kcal per kilogram of body weight, spread across seven days.
It's an estimate. Predictive equations are typically within about ±10% for healthy adults, and further off for very lean, very heavy or older people. Treat the number as a starting line and adjust after two to three weeks of real data — which is exactly what Besly's coach watches for you.
